Meet the Ferrari F80: 895 kW of Power, a Legend in the Making

Ferrari’s highly anticipated F80 is here, ushering in a new era of performance with its hybrid powertrain and groundbreaking design. With a combined output of 895 kW, the F80 accelerates to 100 km/h in just 2.15 seconds, reaching a top speed of 350 km/h. This limited-edition supercar is poised to continue Ferrari’s legacy of engineering excellence while pushing the boundaries of hybrid technology.

Ferrari’s newest creation, the F80, has been unveiled as the successor to the LaFerrari, marking a pivotal moment in the brand’s history. This hybrid-powered hypercar, set to be produced in a limited run of only 799 units, brings together groundbreaking automotive technology, exceptional performance, and a design that pays homage to Ferrari’s storied legacy.

A Powertrain Designed for Unrivalled Performance

At the heart of the Ferrari F80 is a 3.0-litre twin-turbocharged V6, a refined engine derived from Ferrari’s Le Mans prototype, the 499P. This powertrain delivers a remarkable 662 kW, complemented by a hybrid system that adds three electric motors – two on the front axle and one at the rear.

Together, the petrol and electric components produce a combined 895 kW, pushing boundaries even in the hypercar ecosystem. This hybrid system delivers staggering performance and marks Ferrari’s commitment to the future of high-performance vehicles.

The F80’s acceleration figures are nothing short of extraordinary. It accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.15 seconds, and 0 to 200 km/h in a mere 5.75 seconds. Its top speed is 350 km/h, positioning the F80 among the fastest production cars ever built.

Aerodynamic Excellence and Handling Precision

Ferrari has also made significant advancements in aerodynamics with the F80. The car generates over 1,000 kg of downforce at 250 km/h, thanks to its active rear wing, advanced front splitter, and carefully engineered underfloor components. This allows the F80 to maintain stability at extreme speeds while providing exceptional cornering capabilities.

Additionally, the F80 is equipped with a new active suspension system that uses individual electric actuators for each wheel. This system helps to optimise both ride comfort and downforce, ensuring the car performs flawlessly on both the track and the road. The car also boasts impressive braking capabilities, with 408 mm front and 390 mm rear carbon-ceramic brakes that allow it to decelerate from 200 km/h to 0 in just 98 metres.

The F80’s design is a harmonious blend of Ferrari’s storied heritage and modern innovation. Its sleek, aggressive lines are inspired by legendary models like the F40, while incorporating elements that push the boundaries of automotive design. The exterior features a large rear diffuser and a dynamic active spoiler that adjusts to optimise downforce, along with a sculpted side profile that speaks to the car’s high-performance DNA.

Inside, the F80 is fully focused on the driver. The cockpit is designed to provide a racecar-like experience, with controls oriented towards the driver for seamless operation at high speeds. The interior also incorporates Ferrari’s latest technological advancements, including a sophisticated digital display and an intuitive control panel.

Exclusive Production and Price

As a limited-edition vehicle, Ferrari will produce only 799 units of the F80, each priced at approximately €3.6 million (just under R66 million ZAR). All units have already been reserved by customers, making the F80 one of the most exclusive hypercars in the world. Production will begin in 2025, with deliveries expected to commence shortly thereafter.
