Blessed Sunday Week 41 – Enjoy the Road, Not Just the Destination
We spend a great deal of time thinking about destinations. We plan where we need to go, calculate how long the journey should take and sometimes become frustrated whenever something slows us down along the way.
Yet some of the best memories happen between where we started and where we intended to finish.
A beautiful stretch of road, an unexpected viewpoint or even a spontaneous stop somewhere interesting can transform an ordinary drive into something memorable. Sometimes the journey becomes more important than the destination itself.
The same can be said about life.
We are often so focused on reaching the next milestone that we forget to appreciate where we are right now. There will always be another destination ahead, whether it involves our careers, families, finances or personal ambitions.
On this Blessed Sunday, perhaps it is worth slowing down for a moment.
Enjoy the vehicle beneath you. Appreciate the scenery passing outside the window. Treasure the people travelling beside you and remember the roads that brought you here.
There will be plenty of time to think about the next destination tomorrow.
Today, simply enjoy the journey.
