Blessed Sunday Week 36: You Don’t Have to Race Through Life
We spend so much of our lives trying to reach the next destination. There is another deadline ahead, another responsibility demanding attention or another goal waiting somewhere further down the road. Before long, life can begin to feel like a race in which slowing down means falling behind.
Yet not every journey needs to be completed at maximum speed.
Anyone who loves driving knows that some of the best journeys are the ones where the road itself becomes part of the experience. A beautiful mountain pass, an unexpected view or even a quiet stretch of open road can remind us that travelling is about more than simply reaching a destination.
Life deserves the same consideration.
This Blessed Sunday, take your foot off the accelerator for a while. Spend time with the people who matter. Appreciate something you normally rush past. Give yourself a moment without worrying about everything waiting for you tomorrow.
There will always be another Monday and another destination to chase. Today does not need to be one of them.
Sometimes slowing down isn’t losing momentum. It is giving yourself the opportunity to remember why you started the journey in the first place.
Enjoy the road. You are allowed to take your time.
