Weekend Plans: Sometimes You Just Need to Go for a Drive

Not every drive needs a destination.

After spending the week commuting, sitting in traffic and using our vehicles simply to get from one responsibility to another, the weekend provides an opportunity to remember that driving can actually be enjoyable.

Your weekend plans could include taking the car somewhere you haven’t visited for a while. Find a scenic route, head towards the coast, visit a nearby attraction or simply choose a road and see where it takes you.

You don’t necessarily need to make an entire day of it either.

Sometimes an hour behind the wheel with your favourite playlist, good weather and an open road is enough to clear the mind after a busy week.

Of course, make sure your vehicle is ready before heading out. Check the fuel or charge level, tyres and anything else that might turn a relaxing drive into an unwanted roadside adventure.

South Africa has plenty of incredible roads and destinations waiting to be explored.
