Why GTA 6 Vehicle Performance Has Us Excited
The gaming world is counting down the days until GTA 6 launches on 19 November 2026 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. While much of the conversation has focused on the story, characters, and the return to Vice City-inspired locations, there is another aspect that has automotive enthusiasts eagerly waiting: the vehicles.
For decades, the Grand Theft Auto series has delivered some of the most memorable driving experiences in gaming. From supercars and motorcycles to helicopters, boats, and aircraft, vehicles have always been at the heart of the experience. With modern hardware and Rockstar Games’ growing attention to realism, GTA 6 could deliver the most impressive vehicle physics and performance models the series has ever seen.
As automotive enthusiasts, we are particularly excited to see how the next generation of virtual vehicles behaves on the road, in the air, and across the water.
A New Standard For Car Handling

Every Grand Theft Auto title has approached vehicle handling differently. Some games favoured arcade-style driving, while others moved closer to realistic physics. GTA 6 presents an opportunity to strike the perfect balance between accessibility and authenticity.
Modern consoles offer significantly greater processing power than previous generations. This could allow for more advanced suspension modelling, tyre grip simulation, weight transfer, and vehicle damage systems. Even subtle improvements in these areas can dramatically change how a car feels behind the wheel.
We are especially interested in how high-performance vehicles respond during cornering, braking, and acceleration. The difference between a muscle car, supercar, sports sedan, and off-road vehicle should feel more distinct than ever before.
If Rockstar can successfully capture the unique personalities of different vehicle classes, driving around the game’s world may become just as enjoyable as completing missions.
Aircraft Could Reach New Heights

Flying has always been a major part of the Grand Theft Auto experience. Whether piloting helicopters through city skylines or taking jets across vast maps, aircraft add another layer of freedom to exploration.
The larger world expected in GTA 6 makes aircraft performance even more important. Longer distances create opportunities for meaningful differences between helicopters, propeller aircraft, business jets, and military-style aviation.
Several features we hope to see include:
- Improved aerodynamic flight models
- More realistic take-off and landing behaviour
- Distinct handling characteristics between aircraft classes
- Enhanced weather effects on flying performance
- Greater cockpit detail and instrumentation
- Expanded airport and airfield activities
These improvements could make flying one of the most immersive aspects of the game.
Motorcycles And Off-Road Machines Deserve Attention

Motorcycles have always offered a different experience from driving cars. They provide greater agility, higher risk, and a stronger sense of speed. In GTA 6, we hope Rockstar expands on these strengths.
Modern physics systems could allow for more realistic leaning behaviour, suspension movement, and traction management. Different motorcycle categories should also feel unique, from cruisers and sport bikes to dirt bikes and adventure motorcycles.
The same applies to off-road vehicles. The varied environments expected in the game could create opportunities for trucks, ATVs, dune buggies, and utility vehicles to showcase their strengths. Terrain interaction, mud effects, and suspension travel could all play larger roles than in previous entries.
A richer off-road experience would encourage players to explore every corner of the map rather than remaining on paved roads.
Beyond Cars, Planes, And Bikes
One of the greatest strengths of the Grand Theft Auto franchise is the sheer variety of vehicles available to players. Boats, personal watercraft, heavy trucks, construction equipment, emergency vehicles, and speciality machines all contribute to the sandbox experience.
We are particularly interested in seeing how these vehicle categories evolve in GTA 6. Greater differentiation between vehicle types would make every journey feel unique. A speedboat should behave differently from a fishing vessel. A delivery truck should feel nothing like a sports car. Emergency vehicles should deliver their own distinctive driving experience.
This attention to detail helps create a believable world where every vehicle has a purpose and identity.
Looking Ahead To November
The release of GTA 6 is shaping up to be one of the biggest gaming events in recent memory. While the story and open-world design will undoubtedly attract much of the attention, vehicle enthusiasts have plenty of reasons to be excited as well.
From supercars and motorcycles to helicopters, boats, and aircraft, the potential for improved physics, handling, and performance systems is enormous. If Rockstar delivers on expectations, GTA 6 could offer one of the most engaging vehicle experiences ever seen in an open-world game. For those of us who love anything with wheels, wings, or a powerful engine, November cannot arrive soon enough.
