Blessed Sunday Week 38: Enjoy the Road, Not Just the Destination
There is something about driving that encourages us to focus on where we are going. We enter the destination, calculate the distance, watch the estimated arrival time and measure progress by how many kilometres remain.
Yet some of the best moments happen before we arrive.
A beautiful stretch of road, an unexpected view across the mountains, your favourite song playing at exactly the right moment or simply having someone you care about sitting beside you can turn an ordinary journey into something memorable.
This Blessed Sunday Week 38, remember that life works much the same way.
We spend so much time chasing the next milestone that it becomes easy to overlook everything happening along the route. There will always be another destination ahead: another goal, another purchase, another achievement or another challenge demanding our attention.
That doesn’t mean we should stop moving forward. Ambition gives us direction, just as a destination gives purpose to a journey. But reaching the end shouldn’t be the only part that matters.
Sometimes, take the slower road. Look around. Appreciate how far you’ve already travelled and the people sharing the journey with you.
Have a blessed Sunday, and enjoy the road ahead.
